Dr. Gangu, who was amazing, was my original gastroenterologist, but he retired and I heard that Dr. K will be retiring soon. So by the time I need another colonoscopy, I'll have a new doctor. I'm sure that doctor will be just as nice, but hopefully will have time after the procedure to talk with me. 😊"

"Dr Shapiro's office is very well run, everybody from the girls at the front desk to the girls who take you into your exam room to the girls who check you out are very nice very helpful and any one of them can answer any question you have if they can't they find the answer for you and have it by the time you're ready to leave.
Dr Shapiro himself is very comforting kind never makes you feel that he's in a hurry takes his time with you. You never wait more than 15 minutes past your appointment time to see him so you're not waiting a long time you know it's not going to be a 2-hour appointment which I like! He also knows a lot about what he's doing I was told I had one thing and my first visit to him he looked at me and said you do not have that! I said how do you know and he said cuz I'm looking at your chart and I'm looking at the reports and now that I'm looking at you that's not what you have so he said I want you to have this ultrasound done and I'll have the results the next day and I called the office the next day and he was right I had something completely different than I was told I had by the doctors in the hospital after being there for 5 days they gave me the wrong diagnosis Dr Shapiro gave me the right diagnosis! For that I am forever grateful to Dr Shapiro. If you're looking for a gastrointestinal doctor I would see Dr Shapiro!"
"This was my first appointment a few days ago with Dr. Cahill and she was very informative and caring, as well as, Tatiana the office nurse/medical assistant. I took off 1 star for the front desk Receptionist- Jackie, that seemed to already judge me because I forgot my insurance card but I had a picture of it to fill out the paperwork. I explained that I usually have it but it was in my other wallet. My appt was at 230 and I arrived at the facility at 215, however with parking, my feeling achy and 1 elevator down, I got upstairs around 225. Then I had to wait for her to attend someone else first.. I understand I should've gotten there sooner but it's no excuse for you not to explain to me what parts of the forms were needed, knowing that the doctor was waiting. But she had no trouble telling others! She also spoke to me in a condescending manner regarding not accepting a picture of the card and to bring it in on the next visit. Then when leaving I had to fill out release forms and was to set up a follow up visit. She never asked me about the appt, only asked which location for the scan I had to get done...like I had been there before and was annoyed when I asked what choices I had. Then she didn't set up the scan appt and just said they would call me! I wasn't on my game but there's no reason to make someone feel this way!
I called to verify scheduling the Dexa scan today and central scheduling said she should've given me a number to call because they wouldn't have called me.! Please be more compassionate and less judgemental to everyone! You don't know what others are going through."

"Dr. Calandra is a very qualified gastroenterologist. I’ve been his patient for 5 years when I met him when I was in the E.R.
I’m grateful that he was on call that late afternoon. I had two serious G.I. problems and he and his colleagues got to the bottom of these problems, leaving no stone unturned in arriving at a diagnosis. Both of these problems required procedures and hospitalizations.
In addition, Dr. Calandra is a kind and down to earth person who took all the time necessary to explain any questions I had.

Dr. Raddawi has an excellent bedside manner & quickly diagnosed (including his guess proved on point, post colonoscopy results) soon after my initial appointment. I’m very patient with the time delays because of the high quality of care and patient attention. However, hopeful that area of concern improves."
"Dr. Elkhatib has saved my life with his quick thinking and expertise. A doctor can only do so much. He has a team behind him and can’t control a lot that goes on without his knowledge. I had to understand that since knowing him. I appreciate him because he advised me on what to do and what not to do and is it up to me to be disciplined and make sure I follow the diet and take my medicine. I have been doing so much better as I cut out alcohol and smoking. I drink water daily and I cut out caffeine, red meat and other triggers to my condition. His staff was friendly and helpful and professional most of all it was virtually painless. I would have given 5 stars but the nurse who prepared me for checkout abruptly pulled out the IV needle while my arm was south and not resting by my side I had some bleeding. Otherwise, it was a good medical experience. He does have 35 years of experience and is from the original Ingalls hospital aka The University of Chicago."

Dr Dorfmeister spent a whopping 5 minutes with me. She came in before the procedure to introduce herself. After the procedure she spent an additional 2-3 minutes telling me what had happened. I was still a bit out of it from the anesthesia and would have appreciated it if she would have waited a bit longer to come in and tell me about the what she found/didn't find during the procedure. She didn't explain anything about what she found. Because of COVID - no one was allowed to be there with me - so I had to try and take in what the Dr. said on my own. I sure miss Dr. Kosinski who spent as much time with me as I wanted.

"(on behalf of KD) The stars of this review are for the majority of the staff and the experiences of my past 5 years of receiving Entyvio for my Crohn's Disease -- I am grateful to them. However, I write my review today to unfortunately detail a HORRIBLE time at this facility with a nurse that I hope no one should ever have to experience. Not only was she ill-prepared and unknowing of my treatment (even though I've had her several times during my years), but she continually questioned the simple infusion process that I receive every 6 weeks. Additionally, while drawing my blood, she left my vein open to elements instead of capped with collection tubes, which led to spilling of blood over myself, the chair, and the floor. On top of all of this, the debacle continued when I asked for a simple request -- my OWN medical information. She became confrontational and refused to give this to me. She escalated the situation by yelling and storming out. Again, I want to say I've enjoyed my past 5 years at this facility, but this experience today has me questioning any future infusions here with said nurse (Sally)."

"Scheduling took back and forth phone calls for a total of 9 days to get an appointment. There was never a time that someone actually picked up the phone. Then it took approximately 2 days to get a return call and it was mostly when I stepped out. Then another 2 days of waiting for a callback. I almost switched to another doctor. But from he moment I stepped through the doors for my appointment I only experienced kindness and a perfectly run office staff. I was very impressed with everyone I encountered. All showed professionalism. Dr lue was everything I hoped for in a physician. Glad I did not switch after all
I opted for Osmoprep because of a very bad experience with the other. Projectile vomiting, etc. found out it costs between $200 and $300 for the 32 pills depending where purchased. Called my insurance company and they gave me a phone number for doctor or staff to call directly. Explained my situation and they said they could make me a tier 3 which would then cover 30% of the cost. scheduler refused my request by telling me if they did that for me then they would be spending their entire day doing it for everyone. Really? How many people actually need the Osmoprep. I was very disappointed in her lack of empathy. I feel if I could have talked to dr lue directly and explained it to him he would have made the necessary phone call to save me the money."
