About Matthew Horowitz, M.D.

Matthew Horowitz, M.D. attended college at Oberlin College in Ohio.  He received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School, and completed his residency, Chief residency and fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the Chicago Medical School.  He subsequently completed a degree in Administrative Medicine and population health at the University of Wisconsin.

Prior to joining South Suburban Gastroenterology in 1991, he was the Chief of GI at Mount Sinai Hospital (Chicago) and Medical Director of the Sinai Medical Group.  Dr. Horowitz was a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Chicago Medical School and lecturer at the University of Illinois College Of Medicine, where he was involved in training Internal Medicine residents and GI fellows. Dr. Horowitz served as the Chairman of the Endoscopy Committee at Ingalls Memorial Hospital for a number of years.

Currently Dr. Horowitz is actively practicing all aspects of Gastroenterology.  He is additionally involved in the administration of our Endoscopy Center.  He is dedicated to the delivery of excellent and compassionate care and ongoing quality assurance.  He is board certified in Gastroenterology.
