Dr. Asha Aslam is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Aslam cares for patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions. Her clinical interests include acute and chronic liver diseases, IBD, general GI conditions like GERD, constipation and prevention of colon cancer. She is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care that addresses both acute concerns and long-term digestive health.
Dr. Aslam chose gastroenterology because it combines the intellectual rigor of internal medicine with the procedural skills of endoscopy, offering both diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. The field’s breadth—from managing liver disease to IBD and identifying elusive causes of GI bleeding—allows for deep clinical engagement and lasting patient relationships. She was especially drawn to its balance of complexity, impact, and continuity of care.
Dr. Aslam’s approach to patient care is centered on listening closely, educating patients about their condition, and developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans. She aims to build trust through clear communication and collaborative decision-making, ensuring that each patient feels heard, informed, and supported throughout their care journey.
Dr. Aslam obtained her Medical Degree from Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore Pakistan. She then completed her Medical Residency at Louis A Weiss Memorial Hospital Chicago IL and then went on to the University of Iowa hospitals and clinics for her GI fellowship and Stanford University for her transplant hepatology fellowship.
Apart from practicing medicine, she enjoys spending quality time with my family, experimenting with new recipes, and traveling. Dr. Aslam also has a passion for home decor, hosting, painting, and creating personalized spaces that reflect warmth and creativity.
